Are you passionate about groundbreaking research in biomarkers for respiratory health? Southampton Solent University has an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to join our dynamic Biomedical Science team. This role focuses on exploring innovative biomarkers for preschool wheezing and the development of asthma later in life.
About the Project:
Funded by Asthma + Lung UK, this project aims to identify a panel of microRNAs that can predict preschool wheezing and the progression to asthma. The successful candidate will develop cutting-edge approaches to define these miRNA panels, providing critical insights into early diagnosis and prediction of asthma in newborns and young children. This research will be both fundamentally significant and impactful in the field of respiratory health.

Who We’re Looking For:
A PhD in genetics, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related field is required.
However, we also welcome applications from MSc holders or close to completion PhD students (will be appointed as senior research assistant) with substantial experience in miRNA research, especially those with a strong publication record in this area.
