Derby College Group (DCG) are recruiting for an IV/Assessor in Plumbing and Gas to join our excellent Construction Apprenticeships team, based at the iconic Roundhouse Campus on Pride Park in Derby. The Opportunity
This role is a great opportunity for experienced industry engineers and trades people who are looking for new challenges in a different sector.
Within this role you’ll be supporting and progressing a caseload of students to achieve identified outcomes including all component parts of the Apprenticeship Standards, within the approved timeframes. Alongside this, you’ll ensure that all delivery practices meet the requirements of both internal and external quality and compliance.
You will contribute to a high-quality learning and assessment experience for our apprentices, adding your experience and skills to the team and using this to benefit and inspire the future workforce. Within this role you will also build relationships with local employers.

About you
To excel in this role, you’ll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be confident working under your own initiative and managing your time and caseloads effectively. This role is based at The Roundhouse campus, and you will also be prepared to work remotely and visit local employer sites.
You’ll hold qualifications within the subject area and at least 5 years’ experience in the trade. An A1/TAQA Assessors qualification and a V1/TAQA Internal Quality Assurance Award are essential but if you do not currently hold them then we will support you to achieve it. For candidates who do not have the necessary sustainable or gas qualifications, we will support you to complete this while in post.
