The School of Architecture is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join its Intergenerational Design Lab and contribute to a portfolio of ambitious research and knowledge exchange activities.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape innovative interdisciplinary research on housing, building on internationally recognised work led by Professor Sam Jacoby. Working within the Intergenerational Design Lab, you will contribute to research focused on themes including Home and Heat, while supporting the development of new collaborative projects with academic, industry, public sector and third-sector partners.
You will undertake and disseminate high-quality research, contribute to funding applications, support project delivery and management, and help develop partnerships that generate meaningful impact. The role also involves contributing to executive education and consultancy initiatives, coordinating research activities and events, and supporting the School's wider research strategy.
We are looking for a proactive and highly organised researcher with excellent academic and project management skills, experience of collaborative working, and the ability to contribute to successful funding bids and research outputs. You will be comfortable working independently while thriving in multidisciplinary teams and engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.
This post offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to housing research, expand your research profile, and play a key role in the growth of a dynamic research lab within a world-leading art and design institution.
We are seeking to fill two complementary positions, comprising 0.6 FTE and 0.4 FTE appointments. Applications are welcomed from individuals interested in either role, as well as from candidates who wish to be considered for both positions.
The final appointment structure will be determined through the selection process. Subject to the outcome, we may appoint two candidates or offer both posts to one candidate as a full-time appointment.
