Senior Clinical Research Coder - University of Edinburgh Careers

The Opportunity:

The Edinburgh Cancer Research Centre is seeking a Senior Clinical Coder with a strong attention to detail and experience in clinical research and data entry, to work within the Edinburgh Cancer Informatics Programme. This is an opportunity to join a new, dynamic and growing, team, working between the NHS and the University, and support our Real-World Evidence programme.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Good understanding of oncological clinical practices, especially brain cancer
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Transcribe clinical data onto an up-to-date clinical brain cancer database
  • Provide curation support for Real World data studies – all cancer types
  • Identify and resolve data conflicts from multiple sources
  • Provide support for analytical projects and audits, and quality improvement
