THE ROLE
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive part-time Health and Safety Administrator (0.4 FTE) to provide vital administrative support to our Health and Safety team. In this role, you will assist in document management, statistical reporting, online content development, and site inspections. You will also contribute to incident investigations and help maintain accurate records, playing a key role in the smooth operation of the department.

ABOUT THE POST
Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and manage the administrative function of the Health and Safety department.
  • Develop and maintain databases and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Produce and analyse health and safety statistics, identifying trends and insights.
  • Support the team with document control, correspondence, meeting preparation and routine tasks.
  • Assist in developing eLearning materials and online safety resources.
  • Support site inspections and contribute to incident investigations, DSE assessments and other team activities as appropriate.

ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a highly organised individual with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.

The ideal candidate will have experience in administrative support, preferably within a health and safety or educational environment, and be proficient in Microsoft Office and database management.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to analyse data and produce written reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in health and safety administration, ideally within higher education.
  • Familiarity with health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (or working towards one).
