The specific purpose of this employment is to fill an Assistant Professor vacancy on a temporary basis pending the return of the postholder from maternity leave.

Reports to: Head of Discipline and Head of School

The Purpose of the Role

The Department of Economics, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Economics (any field) on a specific purpose basis, covering the maternity leave of the permanent post-holder, and to commence on 1 August 2025. The Department invites applications in any field to add to the strengths of the department in this area: http://www.tcd.ie/Economics/research

Successful applicants will contribute to research and teaching in the Department of Economics. The existing research strengths of the Department include development economics, international macroeconomics, and applied economics more generally (in particular, economic history, energy economics, political economy, and urban economics).
