The role
As a Level 2 Swimming Teacher you will help teach and coach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water. Applicants will be customer focused, have a positive and problem solving attitude at all times and demonstrate an aptitude for teamwork.
The swim school runs Monday to Friday evenings between the hours of 16:00 – 20:00 as well as Saturday and Sunday mornings between 8:30 – 12:00. These positions will complete the swimming pool rota ensuring a safe and effective swimming pool operation.
Shifts:
Monday 16:00 – 19:00
Tuesdays 16:00 – 19:00
Fridays 16:00 – 19:00
Various ad hoc hours also available.
What will you be doing?
You will be working on a successful Learn to Swim programme, delivering a range of lessons to children and adults. You will plan and deliver swimming lessons in line with the scheme of work and create lesson plans that will identify participants’ abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential.
When teaching, you will provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques, correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance for the individual swimmers.
You will be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming. You will regularly assess each participant’s ability and progress and arrange for the award of the appropriate certificates.
