Research Funding and Operations Manager

University College of Estate Management

Full time (35 hrs/wk), permanent, however part time may be considered

Split place of work between Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) and Home

UCEM’s ambition is to develop as a research-informed institution in its aspiration to become the Centre of Excellence for Built Environment Education. You will be part of the development of this transformation and pivotal in establishing effective administrative processes and a robust approach to Research Administration. You will manage the research bid process and ensure all research activities are costed, tracked and reported appropriately; you will also be responsible for maintaining records and updating policies in relation to Research quality and outputs. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a number of teams within UCEM, to develop and deliver upon new processes, procedures and support for both staff and students so that they can excel at research. 

You must have experience in a similar research related role in higher education, or a role in a different discipline but with a similar skillset. Equally, experience within a finance team or finance-based discipline is essential, as is being qualified to degree level. Finally, we expect you to have sound digital and administration skills, alongside project management and cross-team working.
