We are seeking an emerging leader to act in the capacity of Head of the Discipline of Podiatric Medicine. This individual will be a progressive and highly committed academic who combines strong academic and podiatric medicine credentials. The role will require a candidate who combines an excellent track record in podiatric medical education, research and clinical practice.
They will be expected to teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and contribute to research and scholarly activities within the Discipline of Podiatric Medicine, whilst leading and supporting the academic and practice education team to ensure excellence in teaching, research, and professional practice.
The post-holder will provide strategic leadership and support to the BSc (Hons) Podiatric Medicine and MSc Podiatric Medicine (Pre-registration) programmes—the only undergraduate programme and pre-registration programme in Podiatric Medicine in the Republic of Ireland. Our degree offerings are designed to educate and train individuals aspiring to become podiatrists specialising in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of diseases and disorders of the lower limb and foot. Aligned with national and international best practices and standards, our programmes reflect the evolving demands of healthcare service delivery. The post-holder will play a pivotal role in ensuring curricula remain compliant with professional and regulatory body requirements and are responsive to emerging trends in healthcare.
In addition to delivering academic and clinical teaching, clinical supervision, and student support, the successful candidate will contribute significantly to curriculum development and innovation. As Head of Discipline for Podiatric Medicine, they will be expected to lead the development of new postgraduate opportunities, including postgraduate taught programmes.

Salary: € 83,031 to € 117,664 p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)
