The opportunity
University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for an experienced academic to contribute to teaching, curriculum development, and research in CAD/CAM for our fashion technology courses.
Based in the School of Design and Technology, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning, shaping both conventional and innovative 3D development technical approaches across the school.
You will also support curriculum development that promotes diversity, inclusivity, and cutting-edge practice, challenging thought and practices within the subject area.
This role involves collaboration with course teams at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supporting students via academic guidance and pastoral care, and contributing to the overall development of the fashion technology discipline.
About you
You will hold an undergraduate degree in fashion (manual pattern cutting and realisation and digital processes) or an associated subject.
Key to this post will be the ability to lead on digital pattern and garment development techniques.
In addition to your strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills, you will be capable of actively contributing to course management, student experience and pastoral care, as well as giving on-going tutorial support, constructive guidance and feedback.
Teaching and learning experience and/or equivalent industry experience in digital pattern cutting and garment technology processes, using industry standard CAD/CAM software is also essential.
