Job description:
Do you work in social care or research social care? Do you have lived experience of giving and/or receiving care? Are you looking to build your career in applied research for adult social care? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We seek two Research Trainees to be based in the School for Social Care Research (SSCR) at the University of Sheffield. They will be involved in SSCR projects and work, gain skills and experience, undertake training, work alongside our established team of researchers, and engage in career development activities. This would suit those looking to take their next step in adult social care research and/or practice.
SSCR is a major national initiative that brings together 7 Universities under a mission to develop the evidence base to improve adult social care practice in England. Our team is a collaboration between the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Health at the University of Sheffield, and part of a wide portfolio of care research. The work of SSCR is guided by core principles of co-production, collaboration and impact. Our research is inspired by the expertise of our practice partners and people with lived experience of requiring or providing care, and we strive to ensure our investigations are relevant and responsive to policy and practice. Our impact activities reflect our determination to make positive change, and create more effective and sustainable care arrangements.
The University of Sheffield is a remarkable place to work. Our people are at the heart of everything we do. Their diverse backgrounds, abilities and beliefs make Sheffield a world-class university. We offer a fantastic range of benefits including a highly competitive annual leave entitlement (with the ability to purchase more), a generous pensions scheme, flexible working opportunities,a commitment to your development and wellbeing, a wide range of retail discounts, and much more.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
