We are seeking an experienced researcher to join the CUE Robotics Team at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment, working alongside experts in robotics and automation. This position will play a key role in a small team developing novel automated inspection systems for the UK’s next-generation submarine fleet, with a particular focus on the inspection of structural components, tanks, and pipework. We are looking for a candidate with substantial research experience. Their contribution to the project will focus on visual inspection and laser scanning.

To be considered for this role, you will hold a PhD or equivalent qualification and possess significant research experience. You should have a proven track record of delivering research projects. The role involves regular travel to partner sites for meetings and demonstrations, so applicants must be willing and able to travel. A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous.

This is a part-time, fixed-term post for an initial period of three years, with the potential for extension subject to future funding. The role is based at the University’s city centre campus in Glasgow.
