We are seeking a Graduate Apprentice to be assigned to one of the infrastructure and operations teams.

The Graduate Apprentice will play a key role in supporting the IDG Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) department at the University of Warwick, providing technical assistance, infrastructure support, and contributing to various IT projects. This apprenticeship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience while developing essential skills in cloud and network management. The role involves collaborating with team members to troubleshoot technical issues, assist with infrastructure improvements, and ensure seamless delivery of IT services across the University. The Graduate Apprentice will be expected to participate in training and development, with a focus on becoming a highly skilled IT professional in a dynamic higher education environment.

You will undertake activities relating to, and work with increasing independence in relation to:

  • Network support and troubleshooting
  • Network engineering
  • Cloud and on-prem support and troubleshooting
  • Cloud and on-prem engineering
  • Client-side End User support with hardware and software assets
  • Direct customer interactions in the fields of AV, Print, ITAD, End User Compute
  • Incident ownership and management

The post holder will be sponsored to undertake further study that will lead to the award of either a Level 4 or Level 7 qualification in one of the following subjects:

Level 4:

  • Network Engineer
  • DevOps Engineer
  • Cloud Engineer

Level 7:

  • MSc-digital-and-technology-specialist/
  • BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions

The decision as to what level of study will be undertaken, and the topic to be studied, will be determined by the post holder’s previous study and work attainment experiences, and also, the I&O team that the post holder will be appointed into.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information, troubleshoot issues, and make informed decisions.
