Main duties and responsibilities
The Science Coordinator will work in our Centre for STEM Education and coordinate our provision and delivery continuing professional development (CPD) to teachers and laboratory technicians nationwide.
You will coordinate and lead the activities, development, innovation, growth and evaluation of the ABE programme. You will consolidate and further develop partnerships and support our growth strategy by coordinating relationships with our key partners.
Skills and experience required
You will have experience working in a STEM industry or education role, working as part of a team. You will have experience of delivering and/or creating educational curriculum or undertaking project management in a STEM or education industry. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively with different audiences. You will possess excellent organisational skills including ability to prioritise and progress varied workstreams. You will be able to monitor aspects of programme effectiveness and evaluate the impact of continuing professional development, whilst demonstrating the ability to communicate others to ensure that information is exchanged and circulated appropriately to the right person at the right time.
You will be required to deal with sensitive material with strict confidentiality. This role requires you to have good IT skills, including the use of online platforms and MS Office suite. You will be proficient with English language, with good numeracy, literacy and technical skills, whilst demonstrating the initiative and ability to learn new skills. You will be able to deal with conflicting priorities and to work under pressure with minimum supervision. You will be able to build rapport with students of different ages and abilities demonstrating tact and diplomacy where required.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with a minimum of a degree in a STEM subject (or equivalent qualification) or proven experience, preferably in a biological or chemical subject.
