This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a world-class business school, in helping to shape a progressive and expanding portfolio of Apprenticeship programmes. We are seeking to appoint the Programme Director who develops and delivers Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship in Digital & Technology Solutions Professional, which is part of the strategic development of Apprenticeship programme portfolio at Henley Business School. We are seeking to attract highly motivated and experienced individuals who aligns with the value of apprenticeship programmes with an excellent record in high-quality teaching. We expect all our staff to be highly collegiate, lead by example, and have an appetite for actively contributing to new initiatives at this very exciting time at Henley Business School.
Your primary responsibility as Programme Director is to ensure the design and delivery of high-quality learning opportunities for learners on the programme, and play a key role to play in providing strategic oversight and direction of the programme that aligns with the principles of the Apprenticeship Standard and Ofsted Inspection Framework. You will be the key person to bring together all elements of an apprenticeship programme that include Module Convenors, Learning Coaches and Apprenticeship Tutors to facilitate the design and delivery of a cohesive programme. You will also contribute to teaching and engage in scholarship which will be agreed with the Head of Department.

Teaching will include a combination of developing, convening and teaching modules in the programme, project supervision, and academic tutoring, together with the appropriate assessment and feedback.

Scholarship includes undertaking research and thinking that allows the teaching to remain focussed, up to date and to benefit from current policy, practice and/or academic debate, which could lead to publication of work that may include white papers, discussion/working papers, case studies, and journal articles.

You will have:

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management or in a related area
  • Teaching experience in higher education
  • Excellent knowledge of the specialism, i.e., in computer science, software engineering, information systems, data analytics, and its curricular context
  • Experience in leadership in teaching and learning to improve students’ learning including development of teaching materials
  • The ability to show initiative, and take responsibility in professional activities

The post is designated as teaching intensive, and fixed for three years in the first instance.
