An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced academic to lead education and training within the School of Pharmacy at the University of Huddersfield.

We are a successful department offering excellent teaching and research facilities and are seeking to appoint an experienced academic to join the School as Subject Leader for Pharmacy with a record of supporting education, training and professional development of the healthcare workforce. This post requires an individual with an understanding of the pharmacy landscape to provide strategic oversight, academic leadership and curriculum development in Pharmacy.

The Pharmacy department delivers several undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) programme, MSc Clinical Pharmacy, and the Practice Certificate in Independent Prescribing.

You will be expected to provide academic leadership, ensuring compliance with University regulations, policies and processes and with current education standards from external regulatory bodies. To ensure the courses reflect contemporary research and practice, you will work closely with School management, administration and technical staff to ensure students receive a high quality academic and learning experience.

With a PhD or capacity to register within 12 months of employment, you will have experience of academic and administrative leadership in Pharmacy within the UK. You will also have experience working with other healthcare professionals, and will be required to build and maintain long term relationships with healthcare stakeholders and placement providers within primary and secondary care in order to increase future placement, interprofessional education and simulation opportunities for our students.

The Pharmacy Department is a great place to work with a supportive and collegiate environment and excellent research facilities. We are proud to hold a Silver Athena SWAN award, recognising our advancement in gender equality.

We provide an exciting, stimulating place to learn and work. Our standards of academic achievement are high, our environment is inspiring, and we embrace innovation in all that we do. With exceptional opportunities for staff development, our students are not the only ones who thrive here.

The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging. We strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all. Find out more about our approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, including our commitments and accreditations as a Disability Confident Employer, Stonewall Gold Award holder and Top 100 Employer, Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder and Race Equality Charter Bronze Award holder.
