The Opportunity: 

This post is part-time (0.4 FTE, 14 hours per week) for the first four months from 1st October 2025, and full-time (1.0 FTE, 35 hours per week) thereafter until 31st December 2026. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis).

The role will involve conducting interviews with vulnerable women in some female-only services. We would strongly encourage applicants to reflect on the services and individuals participating in the study and their ability to meet the needs of the role in relation to accessing female only provision.

The salary for this post is at Grade UE07 (£41,064.00 to £48,822.00 per annum) - the appointment will be made at Spinal Point 32 (£41,064.00) due to budgetary restrictions.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Postgraduate research experience including a Master’s degree or PhD, or about to obtain a PhD, in a relevant field (e.g. public health, social sciences).
  • Experience of research involving vulnerable populations (e.g. people experiencing homelessness).
  • Expertise in and experience of qualitative research, including in-depth face-to-face interviews.
  • Understanding of ethical issues associated with qualitative research involving vulnerable groups and on sensitive topics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
