The School of Architecture and Environment is an ambitious centre of academic excellence with an established and respected global reputation. Join our supportive community of experienced teaching staff, passionate researchers and experts in practice.

You’ll embody the School’s values of inclusivity, sustainability and collaboration and will work alongside our programme teams to develop innovative curricula that prepare students for the changing nature of the architectural profession, aligned with UWE Bristol’s 2030 strategic goal of Transforming Futures.

Our award-winning R Block on Frenchay Campus is home to inspiring facilities, from computer-aided design (CAD) studios to modelling workshops. Hone your craft in a space that won the Royal Fine Art Commission 'Building of the Year' award for Architectural Education.

Thanks to our strong partnerships with industry, we’ve built connections with leading experts and practices in the private, public and voluntary sectors. Through regular consultation with local, national and international employers, we offer cutting-edge insight.

We’re discovering new ways to create and manage more sustainable and inclusive spaces and places fit for the future, whether they’re in urban, rural, built, or natural environments. Our environmental research underpins all our teaching, encouraging future graduates to focus on sustainability from the outset.

You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality learning and teaching, curriculum development and scholarship within the professional practice and design studio strands of the professionally accredited undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and the PGCert Professional Practice & Management (RIBA Part 3).

Building on our innovative Future Practice and Collaborative Practice modules and established Professional Practice and Management (Part 3) course, this role has a focus on critically exploring the interconnections between different forms of professional practice, ethics in practice, professional skills, the professional regulatory environment and wider global issues including the climate and biodiversity emergencies and social and spatial justice. You will collaborate with the professional practice and programme teams to ensure our curricula align with the requirements of our professional and regulatory bodies.

This post is based at our Frenchay campus.

We offer a wide range of employee benefits.

We particularly encourage applications from global majority candidates as we are currently under-represented in this area of the organisation, however all appointments are made strictly on individual merit.

This role is campus based for the majority of your teaching time, however, there is an opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.

The University has a legal responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
