About the role
The Oxford Botanic Garden and Arboretum, home to the UK’s oldest botanic garden and a stunning 130-acre arboretum, is seeking a capable and proactive Administrative Officer to contribute to the smooth running of the department.
In a demanding but challenging and exciting role, the Administrative Officer will be the first point of contact for all internal and external enquiries and this requires an experienced individual able to handle information of a sensitive, sometimes confidential and often urgent nature.
The post holder will be responsible for general office administration such as taking minutes, filing, liaison with suppliers and ordering stationery. They will assist in the administration of volunteers across the two sites, and with the administration and set up of events. The post holder will also provide administrative support to the Director of OBGA and other senior managers within OBGA, including supporting the Director in making arrangements for meetings, visits and travel.
This is a permanent, part-time post, working 18.25 hours per week.
About You
You will exercise good judgement and demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
You will possess strong numerical skills and have experience using financial systems.
You will be able to prioritie your workload effectively and produce accurate, detailed work within deadlines.
Experience in record-keeping and managing systems for follow-up actions is also essential.
