UE09: £62,728 pa - £77,386 per annum, plus a taxed pensionable allowance of £3,250 per annum
Fixed Term (Tenure Track): 5 Years tenure track, subject to a satisfactory formal review at the end of year three, the expectation is that the post-holder will then move to a standard University academic open-ended contract at the end of year five.

The Opportunity:
We wish to appoint an Academic-Track Senior Lecturer to support and develop teaching and research linked to the undergraduate Dual Award Honours programmes in Integrative Biomedical Sciences and Biomedical Informatics jointly developed with Zhejiang University, China. The post-holder will spend up to 12 weeks per annum on teaching-related activities at the University of Edinburgh-Zhejiang University (ZJE) Institute based at the Zhejiang University International Campus in Haining, China (http://zje.intl.zju.edu.cn/). Candidates with experience in metabolism, systems biology and/or integrative physiology are encouraged to apply, particularly those with prior experience of delivering transnational education in the China/East Asia context.
The appointee will be expected to develop and maintain an independent research programme that complements research priorities across the Research Institutes hosted in Edinburgh Medical School, College of Medicine & Veterinary Medicine and the ZJE Institute, including in educational research. Establishing collaborative research programmes at the ZJE Institute is strongly encouraged. Your collaborative research achievements will be evidenced by publications in leading international peer-reviewed journals and the ability or potential to obtain external grant funding.
The post is aimed at individuals with an established reputation for quality research in their discipline and a proven commitment to the development of high-quality university level learning and teaching. The post requires a degree and a PhD in a subject relevant to Biomedical Sciences. Experience in teaching in a Higher Education Institution in the transnational context is a requirement. The post-holder will be mentored towards gaining research grant support and in the further development of teaching and wider academic leadership, management, engagement and knowledge exchange.
The post is available with immediate effect, and it is expected that successful applicants will be in post by no later than 1st September 2025. The tenure-track post is for five years with the expectation, subject to a satisfactory formal review at the end of year three, that the post-holder will move to a standard University academic open-ended contract at the end of year five.
