The Role
The Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for a 2-year postdoctoral position beginning in October 2025. The successful candidate will work with Dr Ben Hoare and other members of the Mathematical and Theoretical Physics Group, contributing to the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship project “Quantum Symmetries in Diverse Dimensions.” The objectives of the project include:
Candidates with a strong track record in integrability, string theory, gauge/gravity duality, quantum field theory and related areas are encouraged to apply.
Key responsibilities:
This post is fixed term for 2 years and includes a generous allowance for travel and inviting academic visitors to Durham. There is 2 years of funding available in the period from 1st October 2025 to 30th September 2028. Successful applicants will ideally be in post on or soon after 1st October 2025 but can request to start at any point between 1st October 2025 and 30th September 2026.
