Background
This is an exciting time to join the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, and contribute to the education of our student nurses to support the development of graduate skills and attributes to enable them to be invaluable members of the future healthcare workforce. We are proud to produce leading practitioners and researchers, renowned for their professionalism, commitment and excellent communication skills, who are fully equipped with the skills they need to rapidly progress in their chosen nursing field. We are seeking to recruit a Nursing and Midwifery (NMC) registrant in adult nursing. Additional experience in specialities such as neonatal care, dementia or a dual qualification in midwifery would be desirable, but not required, to complement our current academic expertise. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director for Pre-Registration Nursing to enrich and extend the learning and teaching of our students in relation to the care of adults. The post is offered on an education-focused basis.
Role Summary
Your teaching is likely to include a substantial contribution to: (a) the management, development and delivery of teaching and assessment at all levels; and (b) enhancement of the student experience and employability. The role will typically also involve developing and advising others, including: (a) providing expert advice to staff and students, and (b) developing and advising others on learning and teaching tasks and methods.
You will be expected to advance teaching and learning practice in your modules within the school, take a role in leading aspects of curriculum development, and play an important role in student academic and pastoral support. You will deliver excellent teaching that inspires students, and is informed by discipline-based research.
Management and administration responsibilities may include developing and making contributions to placement partnerships, knowledge transfer, enterprise, business engagement, public engagement, widening participation, outreach, or similar activities at Department/School level or further within the University and with health and social care partners.
