College Introduction

The School of Marxism at Nanjing University has a fine historical tradition. It is an important base for Marxist theoretical research and talent training based in Jiangsu and radiating across the country. It is a national key Marxist college and a superior discipline in Jiangsu Province. The discipline is strong and has formed distinctive characteristics in the research on the theory and practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, the creative transformation of traditional Chinese ethical and moral thoughts, the history of the development of Marxism, the frontier research of foreign Marxist social theory, and the history of the development of the Communist Party of China and China's political development. The college has a high-level faculty with a total size of about 80 people, including 2 Changjiang Scholars, 1 Four Youth Talent, 1 Youth Talent of the Central Propaganda Department, 4 New Century Excellent Talents Support Program of the Ministry of Education, 3 Jiangsu Province 333 High-level Talent Training Project, 2 Ministry of Education "Selective Funding Program", 6 Jiangsu Province Social Science Talents and Excellent Youth, and 4 Jiangsu Province Colleges and Universities Ideological and Political Courses Excellent Young Teachers "Leading the Sailing" Talent Program. 

Recruitment Position Setting

The School of Marxism at Nanjing University plans to recruit Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Recruitment research directions include:

  1. Basic Principles of Marxism
  2. History of the Development of Marxism
  3. Research on the Sinicization of Marxism
  4. Foreign Marxist Studies
  5. Special research on modern Chinese history
  6. Ideological and political education
  7. Research on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era
  8. Research on Party History and Party Building 

Application Requirements

  1. Commitment to academic teaching and research, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  2. High standards of professional conduct, including adherence to teaching and research ethics; no history of criminal convictions or academic misconduct.
  3. Strong academic background: Ph.D. in a closely related field. Candidates should have experience studying and working in leading research institutions, with a demonstrated record of academic excellence.
    1. For tenure-track Assistant Professor roles, ideally, at least two years of postdoctoral research experience.
    2. For tenure-track Associate Professor roles, ideally, at least four years of postdoctoral research experience.
  4. Proven teaching ability, including the capacity to deliver core and advanced courses effectively. Candidates should be familiar with modern teaching methodologies and possess strong verbal communication skills.
  5. Demonstrated research excellence and potential for continued academic development: a solid record of innovative research with international visibility and a clear and ambitious research agenda.

  1. Three letters of recommendation (generally from doctoral supervisors, academic leaders of current work units, and well-known scholars in the field);
  2. Detailed resume (in Chinese and English)
  3. Three representative works (generally papers or monographs that have been officially published or published online with DOI numbers before the recruitment announcement deadline, and the full text must be uploaded);
  4. Other relevant attachments proving academic achievements
