The role
Campus Division manages and operates the UK’s 11th largest Higher Education estate, supporting 30,000 staff and students across 340+ buildings and extensive outdoor spaces. Our team of 900 skilled professionals—including tradespeople, engineers, and administrators—ensures our campus runs smoothly and efficiently.
The Campus Health, Safety, and Quality Assurance Team provides expert guidance to help the division comply with University policies, industry standards, and UK health and safety laws. We collaborate closely with the University's central Safety and Health Services and other departments to maintain a consistent and high-quality approach to safety and compliance.
We are seeking a Health & Safety Co-ordinator to play a key role in ensuring a consistent and proactive approach to health and safety planning across the University’s estate. This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a team to develop, implement, and continually improve the Health and Safety Management System within one of the UK’s largest higher education estates.
What will you be doing?
To support the Campus Health and Safety Manager and Advisors in ensuring a safe working environment across all Campus Division activities. The co-ordinator will play a significant part in fostering a positive health and safety culture across the Campus Division, delivering and co-ordinating tailored health and safety training, and assisting on audits, inspections, and investigations to support both operational and strategic safety objectives.
You will be responsible for ensuring that any incidents, near misses, or accidents are thoroughly investigated, with lessons learned disseminated across the Division, as well as administering the Campus Permit to Work process and associated system with a high level of attention to detail to ensure that statutory compliance is met.
