The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit Postdoctoral Research Fellows (1.5 FTE total) to join the RSS SCPH South West Satellite team which provides research design support for both established and aspiring researchers wishing to carry out public health research outside the NHS.
We welcome applications from candidates interested in working part-time hours or job-sharing arrangements. Salary will be as above per annum pro rata subject to knowledge, skills and experience.
These NIHR funded posts are available immediately to end September 2028. The successful applicants will be the first point of contact for researchers requesting advice on the design of their research and will be responsible for supporting the researcher to design their research study. There will be the opportunity to develop and apply your knowledge in public health research methodology as well as advance your own research by applying for research funding. About you
The successful applicant will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; identify sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. The successful applicant will possess substantial specialist knowledge in the discipline to inform research and advise others, develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and have strong interpersonal communication, planning, team working negotiation and problem solving skills alongside the ability to work efficiently and independently under pressure and to multiple deadlines.
