We are seeking to recruit a University Teacher to join the School of Allied Health Professions, Pharmacy, Nursing and Midwifery for a one-year maternity cover. This is an exciting opportunity to work with colleagues to contribute to leading and delivering the pre-registration Speech and Language Therapy degree programmes. These are the BMedSci Speech and Language Therapy, the MMedSci Speech and Language Therapy (full and part time) and the BSc Speech and Language Therapy (Degree Apprenticeship) programmes.
We seek candidates with the vision and drive to help us achieve our ambition of delivering an outstanding student experience and to equip our graduates to advance understanding in Speech and Language Therapy and be at the forefront of our profession.
You must have an internationally recognised qualification in speech and language therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. In addition, applicants will be educated to MSc level or have equivalent level of clinical experience in a relevant subject area. You will have relevant academic and clinical teaching experience with pre-registration speech and language therapy students in paediatric speech, language and communication needs.
You will have expertise in one or more of the following: developmental speech, language and communication needs, key concepts in healthcare and education, clinical methods and intervention, and professional development. Other areas of expertise can also be considered but preferred candidates will have knowledge of and skills in working with children and young people. Other duties will include clinical supervision of students on clinical placements in local schools, academic tutoring, dissertation supervision, and student recruitment activities such as open days.
