An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer to join the School of History and Art History to deliver lectures and seminars and carry out teaching-related duties in the field of social and cultural Early Modern history.
Teaching is a key part of this role and as such you will be expected to plan, teach and assess undergraduate and potentially postgraduate programmes, taking responsibility for the delivery and assessment of specific modules. This will include organising the level 4 module ‘Witchcraft, Magic and Belief in Early Modern Europe’ and team-teach the Special Subject ‘Blood and Brutality: Violence, the Individual and Society in the Early Modern World’.
You must have a PhD in a relevant subject area with experience of undergraduate teaching and student assessment at all levels including coursework, and undergraduate and MA dissertations. Teaching experience at postgraduate level and an interest in relevant enterprise and engagement activities would be advantageous.
This part-time (0.6 FTE) post requires a regular on-campus presence in line with the teaching requirements and needs of the School. The post is available from 1 September 2025 for a fixed term period of 11 months.
