The Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics is seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Assistant (PDRA) to support Professor Aditi Lahiri’s project 'Pertinacity', for which an EPSRC grant has been awarded. The PDRA will be a part of a vibrant community of linguists working in various aspects of the discipline, both synchronic and diachronic.

This role will be responsible for the experimental approaches to morpho-phonological representation and processing, focusing on neurolinguistic and psycholinguistic experimental research on the comprehension of words and phrases.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work alongside the PI and the other postdoctoral fellows within the PI's linguistic framework on investigating phonological and morphophonological representations in the mental lexicon using an experimental approach, writing of research papers for internationally refereed journals and presenting results at national and international conferences, involvement in key decisions on research directions, methodologies and research responsibilities, as well as instruction and day-to-day supervision of graduate students and others working on the project.

About You

You will have a doctoral degree in either Linguistics or Psychology (with a focus on language), a background in Linguistics, and be willing to work in a Linguistically oriented environment.

The post holder must have experience with EEG and should be able to carry out EEG acquisition and analysis of EEG data independently. The post holder must also have a strong statistical background, with at least one recent publication in an internationally reputable journal.
