Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Fellow: Nature and Travel Writing, who will support the delivery of postgraduate modules for MA Nature and Travel Writing and contribute to undergraduate teaching in Creative Writing. (This is a part-time 0.4 role, 8-month Fixed Term Contract)
About the Role
Creative writing is well-established at Bath Spa University with a large undergraduate programme, which includes combinations with subjects such as Publishing and English Literature, four taught MA programmes and a successful PhD Creative Writing programme. The MA in Nature and Travel Writing is a low residency course that mixes in-person residentials at our Newton Park campus with online teaching.
Within the role, you will deliver lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials, while supporting students both in person and online. The role also includes assessment marking, participation in examination boards, and general administrative duties such as monitoring attendance and providing coursework feedback. In addition, you will contribute to syllabus development, maintain subject expertise, and reflect on teaching practice. A commitment to health and safety and flexibility to undertake additional duties as required by the University is essential.
