About the role
Applications are invited for the full-time post of Research Support Officer within the Research Office. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join a dynamic team and to build on their career in research management and support. This is a fixed term appointment providing maternity cover for 12 months and is also available as a secondment opportunity for internal candidates.
What you would be doing
Working closely with the Research Support and Assurance Manager, you will play a key role within the Operational Support Team and support the delivery of a range of services which underpin the governance work of the Research Office. A major part of the role will be providing operational support, guidance, advice and tools to staff in Faculties and Departments to underpin policies and procedures relating to research funding management, and supporting activities to ensure the requirements of external research funders are met.
What we are looking for
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure are needed, aligned with the ability to balance need, risk and pragmatism when considering and developing solutions. You should be able to respond effectively when faced with challenging tasks and changing priorities to ensure deadlines are met. A clear understanding of the need and practice of customer focus and customer relationship skills is essential.
