As part of plans to support and develop the Undergraduate programme in Chinese at the University of Glasgow, the School of Modern Languages and Cultures is seeking to appoint a full-time open-ended Lecturer in Chinese (Learning, Teaching and Scholarship Track).
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to curriculum design, teaching, assessment and administration of the Chinese programme (particularly Undergraduate from beginner to advanced levels), as the School seeks to expand provision of Chinese to degree level.
Specialisation should include Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL) including methodologies for Chinese language acquisition, in order to contribute to the design and delivery of the Chinese Undergraduate programme to degree level.
The postholder will undertake Scholarship of Learning and Teaching (SoTL) of international excellence in TCFL and associated pedagogies.
The postholder will also undertake administration and service activities in line with the strategic objectives of the School and of the College.
We value diversity, and we especially encourage applications from women, disabled, and ethnic minority candidates.
Informal enquiries should be directed to Dr Hongling Liang [hongling.liang@glasgow.ac.uk] as Programme Director for Chinese.
