UoB Manchester (UOBM) is a dynamic higher education provider in the heart of Manchester, with a focus on high-quality teaching and assessment, and an inclusive, business-like culture. We are as much a leadership school as a health and social care school. As we launch our range of undergraduate courses, we are looking to recruit high-quality, highly-motivated lecturers with a strong background in Health and Social Care practice to match their academic qualifications.

We are looking for a senior lecturer with utility across a range of key topics, including Anatomy and Physiology, Safeguarding, Lifespan Development, etc. We are especially interested in Health and Social Care professionals with broad experience who are looking to start a new career in higher education. Our ideal candidates will have deep knowledge of the sector, and will be outstanding planners and communicators.

The successful candidate will act as a module leader and be responsible for designing schemes of work, learning resources, and assessments, across a number of modules. They will also teach for approximately 18 hours per week and advise their module delivery team. All academic staff act as personal tutors and conduct admission interviews amongst other academic duties.

The Health and Social Care team work from our building at Manchester Science Park but may be moving to our new Health School building in the city centre in due course. The successful candidate will demonstrate a collegiate attitude and a solution-focused ethos, suitable for working in a high-tempo environment. All staff are required to teach face-to-face, but may be occasionally required to teach online, so familiarity with online delivery, and Zoom in particular, will be an advantage, although not essential as training will be given in this area.

Fellowship of the HEA or an undertaking to achieving this will be an advantage. You will be qualified to full Master’s degree level. Professional status/accreditation will also be an advantage. Candidates must have an unrestricted right to live and work in the United Kingdom without sponsorship.

To apply, please send a current CV and covering letter to resourcing@manchester.bolton.ac.uk (via the ‘Apply’ button above).

*Please note that UOBM is a separate legal entity to the University of Bolton. Employees of UOBM are employed directly by us and do not have any contractual link to the University of Bolton. This post is not open to current employees of the University of Bolton.
