This role presents a fantastic opportunity to shape multidisciplined electrical engineering education. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering cutting-edge courses in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, providing mentorship to students, and contributing to research initiatives. Our ideal candidate would possess a diverse skill set and would be well-versed in guiding students through the core concepts of Communications, RF and Microwave Technologies, Signal Integrity, Software-Defined-Radio, and similar. We are particularly interested in candidates who not only possess a strong academic background but also have practical experience or experience in collaborating with or working with the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Industries. Additionally, we appreciate expertise in areas such as Power Electronics, Electrical Machines, Power Generation, and Applications of AI to EE.
Furthermore, you will become part of the Sensing and Instrumentation team, a dynamic team of research active staff within the School of Engineering and have an opportunity to link with existing projects and proposal development with the support of senior staff. If you have a portfolio of research related to Electrical and Electronics Engineering or clear plans to develop one, we encourage you to apply.
About you
We require candidates that have a diverse skill set and is well-versed in guiding students through the core concepts of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. We highly value candidates who have a background and knowledge that can help develop our aspiring student engineers. The Appointee will be part of a team supporting delivery of all Electrical and Electronics Engineering related modules.
Candidates should have, or near completion of, Doctoral level qualification in a related discipline to the role and already be employed within academia. If coming from a professional practice / industry background, successful applicants will need to have a qualification equivalent to degree level (or above) together with demonstrable relevant professional experience within the Electrical, Electronics or RF/MW Electronics sectors. A teaching qualification and experience of teaching in higher education is advantageous.
Candidates should be able to showcase evidence of their continuous professional growth in relevant subject areas.
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus.
