As the Doctoral Policy Manager you will be responsible for creating the procedures for a new set of academic milestones for all Postgraduate Researchers (PGR) at the University of Bath. You'll have the chance to work with diverse groups of experts and stakeholders across the university and use your organisational skills to support new initiatives that set the foundation for a positive research culture.
About the role
We have recently undertaken a major consultation and designed a new set of academic milestones which will support PGRs through a modern doctoral journey, ensure academic rigor at all stages and set the foundation for a positive research culture.
This role will take the ideas for the milestones and work with colleagues across the university to design procedures which are effective and efficient, allowing for information to flow to those who need it in a timely manner and for decisions to be made quickly. This will involve creating the procedures, writing polices and regulations as required and ensuring their approval at the relevant committees and developing guidance materials for all stakeholders.

Knowledge of the higher education sector is essential, and knowledge of the doctoral journey desirable.
Further information
This post is offered on a full-time basis (36.5 hours per week), for a fixed-term period of 12 months.
The post will be located in the Doctoral College on the University campus where hybrid working is in operation.
You will be expected to work on campus a minimum of 2 days per week.
