Applications are invited for a Research Assistant (RA) within the Department of Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) to work on a Horizon Europe funded project titled Personalised response monitoring in oncology: co-creating clinical trials in advanced breast cancer. The primary responsibilities will involve creating and maintaining a research project website, developing a research project social media and communications strategy, reviewing literature, quantitative data collection and analysis activities; organising meetings/travel and minutes of meetings; preparing reports for dissemination to a variety of key stakeholders including academics, patients, carers, health professionals, and policy makers; and contributing to the development of technical specification documentation for external software development partners. This role involves considerable communication and collaboration with external project partners so exceptional communication skills are essential.
You will be supported by an experienced team of researchers from the Digital Health and Wellness Research Group (DH&WG) at the University of Strathclyde (based in CIS). You will have a background in health services research and/or social sciences and preferred experience within the digital health domain. You will also have experience of qualitative and quantitative data collection activities, analysis, report and writing for publication.
You will assist in the delivery of the research activities as part of a team, working under the general supervision of senior colleagues. You will manage and prioritise your own workload and ensure that all activities are completed to deadlines and you will write up the results of your own research and contribute to the production of research reports and publications. You will input as a team member to administrative activities and assist, where required, with relevant teaching and knowledge exchange activities.
To be considered for the role, you will have obtained a relevant degree. You will have good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, website development and social media packages. Experience of conducting research in healthcare settings is also essential for this role.
