Sabhal Mòr Ostaig is currently looking for candidates for the position of Lecturer in Teacher Education on a 0.5 FTE contract for at least 12 months due to the time the established team is putting towards the Center for Excellence in Teaching. This is a great opportunity to support a new generation of new Gaelic teachers and to collaborate in a great team in a stimulating, challenging and valuable environment, through the medium of Gaelic. Knowledge of Gaelic education, a teaching certificate at primary or secondary level and full registration with GTCS is essential for the role. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the teaching and assessment of educational courses, including (depending on experience):

  • BA (Hons) Gaelic and Education
  • PGDE Primary and Secondary (Gaelic)
  • MEd Gaelic Education

We welcome applications for this position from qualified candidates. Applicants should have a good knowledge of Gaelic Education at school level and we would particularly welcome applications from candidates who have a certificate at secondary school level.
