The post holder will be an independent early career researcher responsible for carrying out advanced research in measuring and/or modelling aeolian processes in desert environments with a specialism in desert dust emission and/or sand dune dynamics. The post holder will join and contribute to a research group, led by Professor Giles Wiggs, of academics and doctoral students investigating contemporary controls on aeolian processes in desert environments. Due to the research needs within the group preference may be given to candidates with specific expertise in aeolian dust emissions, especially modelling.
This post is a career development role in which the post holder will have the opportunity to increase their research profile. In support of this the post holder will have access to an annual research/CPD allowance and annual meetings will be held to review goals, assess progress, and explore development opportunities. We are seeking an early career researcher and would expect the successful candidate to have completed their PhD/DPhil within the last five years.
