Spurgeon’s College is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join its Senior Management Team as Director of Student Recruitment and Marketing.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of a dynamic higher education institution, recently granted Degree Awarding Powers, with a global reputation for Christian theological education.

About the Role

As Director of Student Recruitment and Marketing, you will lead all aspects of student recruitment, marketing, and communications. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to attract a diverse, high-quality student body across undergraduate, postgraduate, and international markets.

You will oversee the full student recruitment and marketing cycle, including digital campaigns, open days, brand development, and external engagement. Reporting directly to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and managing the Student Recruitment Officer, you will play a key role in shaping the public face and growth of the College.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone with:

  • A strong background in student recruitment and marketing within higher education
  • Proven leadership and strategic planning ability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A data-driven and creative mindset
  • A collaborative and proactive working style

 Essential:

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Significant experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated success in increasing student enrolment and visibility
  • Strong team leadership and budget management experience

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualification in marketing or related field
  • Experience working in international student recruitment
  • Professional membership (e.g., CIM, CASE, UCAS)

Terms & Benefits:

  • Salary: £51,500 per annum
  • Line Manager: Deputy Vice-Chancellor
  • Line Report: 1 (Student Recruitment Officer)
