About the role

The University Hospitality Department provides catering to students, staff and external customers throughout the academic year and during the summer months. There are numerous outlets run by the Hospitality Department offering a range of food and drink options.
We currently have a vacancy for a Food & Beverage Assistant in the west hospitality team. In this role you will be required to ensure that the day to day running of the catering operation is smooth and that customers are provided with a high standard of service at all times. Your responsibilities will include taking customer orders, serving food and drink, working on the tills, stocking food stations and assisting with cleaning and clearing tables and catering areas. During University term time the hours are predominantly daytime and Monday - Friday, with occasional evening and weekend working for events. Throughout the summer there is a more varied shift pattern involving some weekend and evening work.
This position is a 40-week contract. Non-working weeks will be 7 weeks from December vacation through to the end of January, 2 weeks at Easter and 3 weeks in August.
About you:
The successful candidate will have experience of providing an excellent standard of customer service in a customer focussed environment. Previous experience of working in the Hospitality industry would be an advantage. You should be a good team worker and be able to be calm and professional in high pressure situations, as it can be extremely busy during peak times.
