About the Role
The clinical research fellow will contribute to research activities across Genes & Health and/or Black Health Legacy, according to the needs of the study team and skills, experience and interests of the individual. They will join a thriving and collaborative research team that has supported several resident doctors and allied health professionals into research fellowships and onwards clinical academic careers.
Research activities that the research fellow may contribute to include recruitment to and recall of volunteers for clinical assessment in Genes & Health and Black Health Legacy, health data and genomic data analysis using genetic epidemiology, trial emulation or health economic analysis to address questions relevant to diverse populations and their risk of cardiometabolic disease, disease trajectories, treatment response and long-term health outcomes. Qualitative and health services research focused on the effective inclusion and representation of diverse groups in research and precision medicine may also be possible.
About You
You will bring a strong clinical background as a doctor, pharmacist, nurse or allied health professional. Research experience is desirable but not essential, but the ability to think critically and develop scientific hypotheses and research plans is required. You will be self-disciplined, organised and passionate about your work, and about delivering improvements in health through research that effectively engages with and includes people from underrepresented backgrounds.
You will be ambitious about your future career, and seek training and development opportunities. You will be supported in undertaking part-time clinical work alongside this role where possible.
