Description of Post

The Assistant Lecturer will play an active role in teaching hours as required by management in General undergraduate and postgraduate nursing courses including teaching and research supervision.

Please note: The postholder will be based at the ATU Donegal, Letterkenny Campus.

Essential Qualifications

Minimum

An Honours Degree (2.2 or higher) in a relevant Level 8 Nursing degree as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), or equivalent.
Three years relevant post-qualification experience.
Be registered on the relevant Nursing Division of the Register for Nurses maintained by NMBI or be eligible to be so registered.

Desirable

Have recent clinical nursing experience in General Nursing discipline.
A post-graduate degree in a relevant specialist general nursing area.
Experience of lecturing at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level in a 3^rd level environment.
Be registered on the Nurse Tutors Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI or be eligible to be so registered.
Experience in the development of new programmes and curricular development.
Excellent communication skills, organisational skills and interpersonal skills.
Relevant teaching and research experience.
