About the role
The Senior Project Officer will play a pivotal role in delivering the DEFRA-funded project, Exploring Sustainable Land Use Pathways for Ecosystems, Food Security, and Poverty Alleviation: Opportunities for Indonesia’s Food Estate Program. This transdisciplinary initiative addresses critical concerns about the environmental and social impacts of food estate programmes, focusing on creating sustainable solutions that integrate biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and food security while supporting local livelihoods.
Working closely with academic and international partners, farming communities, and policymakers, the post-holder will oversee project administration, manage stakeholder engagement, and coordinate communication strategies. Responsibilities include facilitating participatory research, organising capacity-building activities, and supporting the development of a cutting-edge open-access mapping and modelling tool to inform sustainable land use scenarios. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to transformative research and policy development aimed at addressing pressing global challenges through collaborative, evidence-based solutions.
About you
We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and collaborative individual to join our team as a Senior Project Officer. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, adept at problem-solving, and passionate about driving impactful research that addresses global challenges such as biodiversity loss, climate resilience, and food security.
