The opportunity
University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Coordinator to lead a dynamic technical team across our media subject areas.
Based at the London College of Fashion East Bank campus, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of specialist technical teams working across subject areas that include Digital 3D, Creative Computing, AI, Digital Media, Photography, Moving Image and Hair & Makeup. You will work closely with course and technical teams in the planning and delivery of high-quality technical teaching to students, overseeing workshops, resource provision and associated policies and procedures. Additionally, you will manage resources and budgets effectively, ensuring the smooth running of all services.
This is a challenging role that requires experience of pedagogical approaches and industry practice. You will also stay up to date with new developments in learning and teaching, as well as existing and emerging media technologies, building on your established knowledge and expertise.
About you
We are looking for an individual with extensive experience and an understanding of the media industry and subject areas.
You will possess specialist knowledge in at least one relevant field and demonstrate a strong digital competency, with evidence of expertise in using digital platforms for communication, creativity, collaboration, and teaching and learning.
You will also need key understanding of specialist areas such as digital design, creative computing, AI, DTP, and immersive technologies including VR, AR, and MR.
Excellent leadership and problem-solving abilities are essential, as is a collaborative approach to your work.
