We have an exciting opportunity for a Threat and Vulnerability Specialist to join the University’s Information Security Team. This team is a high-profile, proactive team which enables the University to function at its best by reducing the risk of cyber security incidents and data breaches and responding effectively to any incidents that should occur. We work as subject matter experts, collaborating with teams across the University and with our external partners to identify and mitigate threat and risk.
The Threat and Vulnerability Specialist is responsible for supporting and delivering the operation of the vulnerability management function. The post holder will utilise vulnerability management tools and techniques to co-ordinate, categorise and prepare vulnerability remediation plans and present metrics / KPIs to senior stakeholders. The role will also analyse threat data from multiple sources to enrich vulnerability information and highlight emerging threat patterns. It will support the development of technologies, policies and procedures to build a high performing vulnerability management function.
Candidates should have a comprehensive specialised knowledge of relevant security tools, processes, and techniques to ensure compliance with University procedures, regulations and legislation along with knowledge of best practice techniques for information technology systems.
This post is full time (35 hours p/w) and open ended (permanent). Relocation assistance will be provided where appropriate.
