Background
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious graduate with the ability and confidence to manage a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project with Concretene Limited (Cobmore Holdings)
The University of Manchester and Concretene are looking to recruit a specialist in cement and concrete technology to undertake this 21-month project which has an overall aim of developing sustainable and efficient structural concretes for a wide variety of civil and building engineering applications.
The position will provide the successful candidate with a unique opportunity to work with leading specialists in the design and application of graphene enhanced concrete.
Candidates will require a recently-obtained minimum of a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in civil engineering, materials science or other related subject and ideally have post-graduate and/or industrial experience of advanced material characterisation of concrete.
This post is funded through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) award, a UK Government scheme intended to promote sustained and mutually beneficial relationships between universities and industry.
Based at Concretene in Manchester, the successful candidate will work directly with supervisors from both the University and Concretene and will use the facilities and resources of both organisations.
Due to the nature of the funding, KTP Associates who have already completed a KTP are not eligible to apply.
