The UK Student Recruitment team, based within the University’s External Relations division, is responsible for attracting and encouraging applications to Lancaster University from across the UK for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
The team are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual for the role of Student Recruitment Officer. Working as part of our established and friendly UK student recruitment team you will develop and maintain our face-to-face engagement initiatives with schools and colleges in order to promote the University and higher education to prospective students, across the UK.
Working within an established team of UK Student Recruitment Officers and Assistants, this role will deliver a range of virtual and face-to-face activities for prospective students, parents/carers and teachers/advisors, as well as developing new, impactful recruitment and conversion initiatives and evaluating their impact.
This is the perfect position for a highly organised, self-motivated individual who is skilled at presenting and engaging with prospective students. It is an excellent opportunity to develop a strong engagement skillset in a supportive and friendly team within the diverse University community.
The role will require, throughout certain times of the year, extensive periods of travel around the UK visiting schools and colleges and attending events, outside office hours and working occasional weekends.
The role is to cover a period of maternity leave of the substantive post holder and is offered as a fixed term role for a period of one year, starting in August 2025. For internal candidates, a secondment will be considered subject to line manager approval.
You will expect to work a minimum of 2 days a week from our Lancaster campus, though flexible arrangements may be considered. The role is offered on a blended work schedule with both on-campus and home working.
We particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic people for this role in order to increase our staff diversity in this part of the University.
This role requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check, as a result we will ask successful candidates to complete this check as part of the recruitment process and any offer will be made based upon the satisfactory result of this check.
Informal enquiries for this role can be made to Jake Brown, UK Student Recruitment Manager (North) at jake.brown@lancaster.ac.uk.
Please note: unless specified otherwise in the advert, all advertised roles are UK based.
