About the role
The IT Project Manager role is a key part of the University’s DDaT Team, reporting to the Lead Project Manager and the Head of IT Portfolio Management. This role involves supporting the management of the University Research Management System (URMS) Project.
This project aims to implement a new research management system to ensure the University has the right tools to manage our research and innovation portfolio.
The implementation stage of this project will take place from October 2025 - July 2026.
As IT Project Manager you will be responsible for managing the technical delivery of the University Research Management System (URMS) project throughout implementation, which is due to start in October 2025.
This will involve leading the technical staff involved in this project to ensure successful achievement of the project’s outcomes.
You will work closely with the Project Manager for URMS based in Planning Performance and Strategic Change (PPSC).
As IT Project Manager you will be required to engage effectively with colleagues in Research and Impact Services (RIS), Planning Performance and Strategic Change (PPSC) and other key departments.
You will be required to report on progress, which will be shared with the Project Board and other groups on a regular basis.
You will work closely with the Portfolio Management Office to embed and promote project lifecycle management and assurance and provide effective project reporting as required and requested both within DDaT and with external stakeholders.

This part-time role (14.6 hours per week) is being offered on a 10-month fixed-term basis from October 2025 – July 2026.
