An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Co-ordinator to join the East Anglian Film Archive (EAFA) on the new BFI National Lottery Screen Heritage Funded ‘Community Curating’ project which seeks to improve sustainable engagement with a broader range of audiences.

You will plan and manage a variety of inclusive public activities with a view to diversifying audience engagement and participation with the film archive and facilitate new and innovative approaches to collecting in partnership with under-represented filmmaking communities in the region.

In collaboration with the Queer Norfolk Project Freelance Consultant (also funded by this project) there will be a particular focus on developing LGBTQ+ collections. Key duties will include collaborating with the Queer Norfolk Project Freelance Consultant to organise and deliver training and networking events; working with EAFA colleagues on audience development project work related to archive activity from collection development to marketing and communication; managing temporary project staff, volunteers, interns and students; project advocacy with internal and external stakeholders; co-ordinating project reporting and evaluation, and contributing to a guidance document for archives.

We are seeking an individual with experience of leading on the design and implementation of sustainable audience development projects within the cultural, heritage or education sector with an understanding of the challenges of engaging more diverse audiences. You will have excellent people and communication skills, including experience in partnership working and community engagement. Experience of working with underrepresented and community groups, knowledge of analogue film/video and digital formats, and an understanding of acquisition, ideally within a film archive would also be advantageous.

This part-time (0.6 FTE) post is available from 1 July 2025 on a fixed-term basis until 30 June 2026.

We strongly encourage applicants from under-represented groups to apply, including candidates who are LGBTQ+, disabled, and/or from Black, Asian or other minority ethnic backgrounds. We welcome applications from all protected groups as defined by the Equality Act 2010. Appointment will be made on merit.

Further information on our great benefits package, including 44 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays and additional University Customary days (pro rata for part-time), can be found on our benefits page.

Closing date: 16 June 2025
