The College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer (Research & Teaching) to join the School of Molecular Biosciences. The purpose of this post is to develop and lead research of international standard in the biology of ageing, microbiome, nutrition and metabolism, model organisms, genetics, genomics, metabolomics, and computational/quantitative biology.
You will make a substantial and positive contribution to the strategic direction of the School/College through leading and contributing to research of international standard, high quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, securing research funding, and providing academic leadership and management within the School/College. You will also contribute as appropriate to School/College/University knowledge exchange and management/administrative activities and engage in leadership duties both within and out with the university at national and international scales. In addition, you will actively engage in relationships with external stakeholders that advance knowledge exchange, public understanding and outreach.
The ideal candidate will integrate computational methods such as machine learning with rigorous lab research to enhance our understanding of fundamental nutritional biology and ageing.
