Merton College proposes to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in Economics for the period 1 October 2025 until 30 September 2026.
The main duties of the post will be: to teach undergraduate studying for degrees in Economics & Management and Philosophy, Politiics & Economics (PPE), for an average of 4 hours per week in full term, to share in the organisational responsibility and administration for degrees involving Economics, to provide study skills and pastoral support, and to take part in the undergraduate admissions exercise.
The successful candidate will be able to teach Final Honour School Core Microeconomics and Final Honour School Quantitative Economics to students studying Economics & Management and PPE, as well as providing revision classes for these papers. They will have completed, or be about to complete, a doctorate in Economics in a topic relevant to this teaching range. The ability to provide excellent small-group tutorial teaching to high-achieving undergraduates is essential.
